In
September 2007, Sons of Thunder will be leading a ministry
team to Uganda for a week of open air marketplace evangelism,
healing and miracle ministry. We will also be conducting
crusade ministry in refugee camps near the northern Uganda war
zone. We will pull aside to visit a number of orphanages.
Prayerfully consider joining us on the mission field as we
reach multitudes with the gospel of the Kingdom!
The
fruit is ripe in the harvest fields. For those joining us
on the field, you will see souls saved,
blind eyes and deaf ears open, the lame walk and the
sick healed. And for those who can't go, but wish to
contribute financially, the fruit of the work of ministry will
also go to your
account!
"Whatever you did for
one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for
me."
Mt. 25:40 |

What We Will
Do: Open
Air Marketplace Evangelism Our
team will travel in and from the hub city of Kampala
daily to reach those on the streets and in smaller communities
around the area. We will carry a mobile PA system for setting
up spontaneous meetings in city squares, gathering
thousands daily to hear the gospel and experience the saving,
healing, delivering power of Jesus Christ.
Refugee
Camp Crusades Our
plans include travel to vicinities near the Northern Uganda war zone, where
thousands of people are displaced and contained within the
walls of refugee camps. We will literally have a “captive”
audience for a crusade of thousands in attendance to preach
the gospel.
Outreach
to the Poor Known
as the "night commuters," many children from northern
Uganda are often
kidnapped, raped and forced into a life of military service by
the LRA rebel armies. Young girls have often taken as sex
slaves amid this 20-year war. We plan to hold outreach events
for those affected by war and visit local
orphanages. |
In our 2006 Uganda Campaign, the team led
hundreds to the Lord, preaching the gospel to thousands right
in the marketplace!

Our Needs: Please pray for
us and consider a contribution to this effort as we preach the
gospel, heal the sick, cleanse the leper, raise the dead
and cast out devils (Mt.10:8). Please pray for a
breaker anointing against forces of regional witchcraft and
Islam, which have kept a huge percentage of the area
in bondage. Please also pray for a powerful release of God's
glory & miracle power. If you cannot attend this trip, financial
donations will assist us in funding this event to bring souls
into the kingdom! |

More Background:
John
and the Sons of Thunder team have felt a strong call to
revisit the African continent this year, particularly the
nation of Uganda. John has
has long had a heart for east Africa,
spending considerable time in Kenya, and
recently bringing another team into the nation
of Uganda.
The
people of Uganda are
friendly, despite the pressures of war faced in their northern
region, and the area has been marked by a tremendous move of
God in recent years, although conflict has also raged. Poverty
is overwhelming in Uganda, leaving
about 3 million orphans out of a population of 30 million.
While a slight majority of the population professes the
Christian faith, a third still practice animism or
Islam.
The
nation known today as “Uganda” is the
result of colonial influence in 1894. They grouped different
tribes together at that time, and the emerging result was
Uganda.
Uganda has known
two forms of government, including a form of federal
government, as well as central governments which have often
been characterized by dictatorships, as well as corruption,
human rights abuses and poverty. Today’s ongoing war has left
an estimated 1.5 million people displaced, in what some have
deemed the world’s worst humanitarian
crisis.
Please
pray for the joint ministry team, as we seek to bring regional
impact to the area!
